POLICE and medics were called to Pensnett over concerns for a man's welfare.
Emergency services were called to an area off Hunts Mill Drive in Pensnett, at around 2.15pm yesterday (Tuesday July 18).
A man had climbed up an electricity pylon and was brought to safety and taken to hospital for checks.
The road leads to Barrow Hill nature reserve.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to Hunts Mill Drive, Brierley Hill, just before 2.15pm yesterday (18 July), following concerns over the welfare of a man.
"A man had climbed up a small section of a nearby electricity pylon.
"Officers brought the matter to a safe conclusion and the man came down just before 3.20pm.
"He was taken to hospital for checks."
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, BASICS doctor and the Trust’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found one male patient.
"Once he was brought to safety, the man was assessed by ambulance staff and conveyed to hospital for further treatment."
