DUDLEY North MP Marco Longhi pledged his support for pub culture and independent businesses when he stopped off and had a go at pouring a pint at a Dudley pub.

The Conservative MP called in at The Fellows Pub which has undergone a revival under the ownership of Vicky and Mick Wolohan who have been working to restore the venue to its former glory and create a thriving community hub over the past year.

Mr Longhi was given a tour of the historic Grade II listed pub on The Broadway.

The MP even tried his hand at pouring a pint of the local favourite from Holden's Brewery, Golden Glow, although he admitted mastering the art of pouring the perfect pint might take a bit more practice.

Acknowledging more needs to be done at government level to safeguard the unique heritage and vitality that pubs bring to communities, he thanked the couple for inviting him to visit and said: “This pub is an asset. I will continue supporting our local pubs and the pub culture.”
