TWO people were assaulted and a woman was hit by a car at the former Crooked House pub site.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the disorder at 8.30pm on Saturday September 9 to come forward.

A man and woman were allegedly attacked by a group near the remains of the Himley Road pub, which was reduced to rubble in a suspected arson attack. 

Police say they both got in a car and tried to drive away, but were obstructed.

The car then hit a female pedestrian, who was taken to hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged.

The car left the scene but a woman inside later contacted Staffordshire Police to report the incident.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said said: "We’re investigating reports of disorder at the Crooked House on Saturday evening.

"We understand that a man and a woman were assaulted by a group of people while in the area.

"Both of them got into a car following the incident and tried to drive away but were obstructed.

"The car was then involved in a collision with a pedestrian.

"Fortunately, the pedestrian, a woman, was not seriously injured.

"The car drove away from the area but the man and woman inside later contacted us about what had happened.

"The woman was then taken to hospital for assessment but has since been discharged.

"Officers have been speaking to those involved to establish what happened and are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, particularly those who may have recorded it."
