A SHOCKING image of a woman being robbed at the Merry Hill shopping centre in Brierley Hill has been released by police in a bid to trace the assailants.

The image shows two robbers and the victim on the floor as they steal her handbag.

Officers released the image of the incident, which saw the victim pulled to the floor, as they want to trace the two people in it.

The violent incident happened at 11.15am on Wednesday October 18.

The woman's bank card was later used at a food outlet on the High Street in Halesowen by four people who have since been identified and were not involved in the robbery, say police.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We need your help to identify these two people.

"We want to speak to them after a woman was robbed at a shopping centre in Brierley Hill earlier this month.

"We appreciate that the image isn’t clear at all, but it’s the best we have."

They added: "We put out an earlier appeal to identify four people we wanted to speak to about the stolen bank card being used.

"Thanks to your help, we have now identified those four people and have established that they were not involved in the robbery."
