A teenager has suffered serious injuries after a car crashed into a tree and caught fire in the West Midlands last night (Tuesday, November 7).

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to reports of a car that had crashed on Green Road, Hall Green at 6.38pm and sent an ambulance, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic to the scene.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: β€œOn arrival, we discovered a car that had crashed into a tree and caught fire.

"There was one male patient, who had been rapidly extricated from the vehicle by bystanders.

β€œHe received treatment at the scene for serious injuries before being transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.”
