FIRE crews continued to revisit the scene of a huge blaze on Pensnett Trading Estate several times last night (Thursday November 30).

Hotspots have continued to be discovered, fire chiefs said this morning (Friday December 1), with a spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service adding: “These will be extinguished by firefighters who attend the scene.”

At the peak of the blaze, around 60 firefighters tackled the flames.

No one was hurt during the incident, which began at around 4am on Thursday, but more than half of the industrial unit affected collapsed after the intense fire.

The severe fire also disrupted businesses on the estate, as well as bus services.

No cause has yet been given for the blaze, which has destroyed unit 20, as fire investigators have not been able to venture inside due to hotspots still being identified.

LCP, which owns, the trading estate, said it would be business as usual today (Friday December 1) following the incident and a spokesperson added: “We thank the fire service for its rapid response and tireless work to prevent the fire from spreading further.”
