THE first snowfall of the winter has blanketed some of Dudley overnight.

Some people living in Dudley, Kingswinford and surrounding areas have woken to snowy scenes this morning.

A Met Office yellow weather warning was issued from 6pm yesterday to last till noon today, with snow predicted to fall overnight.

It warned that snow and ice may lead to some disruption to transport and infrastructure.

The Met Office said some roads and railways are "likely to be affected" by the conditions, with longer journey times to be expected by road, bus and train.

The Met Office added that there would probably be some icy patches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths resulting in "some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces".

The latest Dudley, Sedgley and Kingswinford forecasts show it doesn't look like any more snow is on the way - with drizzle and rain predicted today and tomorrow.
