NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Dudley’s takeaways, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Pajits Fish and Chips, at 42a Skidmore Road, Coseley, Bilston, was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on December 18.

And Dixy Chicken, at 221-222 High Street Lye, was given a score of three on January 25.

Of Dudley's 302 takeaways with ratings, 133 (44 per cent) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.

The ratings are published on the Food Standards Agency’s website - ratings.food.gov.uk - which rates businesses from zero to five so customers can make informed choices about where to buy and eat food.

A rating of five means hygiene standards are very good, four means hygiene standards are good, three means hygiene standards are generally satisfactory, two means some improvement is necessary, a rating of one means major improvement is necessary and a rating of zero means urgent improvement is required.
