A YELLOW Met Office weather warning has been issued for a large part of the country including the West Midlands this weekend.
The warning means heavy rain is expected on Saturday evening and into the early hours on Sunday (February 18).
The downpours could cause travel disruption, lead to longer journey times and cause flooding, according to the forecasters.
The Yellow warning will be in place from 3pm on Saturday until 6pm on Sunday, with temperatures hovering between 8°C and 12°C throughout the weekend.
The Met Office warning states: "Spells of rain, some heavy, will push east across most areas through Saturday and Sunday. Some disruption is likely."
It adds that bus and train services maybe affected with journey times taking longer, there may be spray and flooding on roads - making journey times longer; flooding of homes and businesses is also likely and there may be some interruption to power supplies and other services.
The full forecast for Saturday for the region says it will be largely cloudy with the odd bright or sunny interval possible now and again. It will be murky at times over higher ground and will turn breezier with heavy rain arriving by the evening – between 8pm and 9pm, with a maximum temperature of14°C.
The outlook for Sunday is mild and mostly dry with occasional sunny spells and a few showers possible.
