A SEDGLEY mum said it is a "miracle'" no-one was killed after a stolen car crashed into her driveway destroying four vehicles.

Kelly Broomhall's mother-in-law was on her doorstep on Northway just minutes before a car came crashing into the driveway, wrecking the family's four cars and front wall.

Police are investigating after the stolen car was abandoned and three people fled in another vehicle.

Kelly's mother-in-law Sharon Martin, who lives next door, was visiting her after returning from hospital at around 7.20pm on Friday (February 23).

Just moments after the pair went inside, the vehicle hit wrecking four cars belonging to Kelly, her partner Wayne, her son and Sharon and destroying the front wall.

Kelly, who works as a planning engineer, said she heard a "metallic grinding noise getting closer and closer to the house" and rushed to the door to discover "absolute carnage".

The 43-year-old said: "We suddenly heard a strange metallic grinding noise and then a massive bang.

"The whole house shook, I thought a lorry was going to come through the window. The sound was so bizarre I can't even describe it. It was surreal.

"I'm thankful no-one was killed especially as Sharon had been in the porch just before it happened.

"It's quite a busy street there are always dog walkers and people around so it's a miracle no-one was seriously hurt or worse."

Kelly says the 30mph road is used as a race track by drivers and is set to meet with Dudley MP Marco Longhi to call for speed-calming measures.

She said: "Everyone comes racing down here, it's so dangerous. All the residents are fed up, it's horrendous "I've seen cars trying to overtake other cars on the hill."

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We’re investigating after a stolen car crashed into a number of parked cars on the Northway in Sedgley just after 7.30pm on Friday.
