THE Black Country Living Museum is appealing for books to help populate the shelves of Woodside Library which is being rebuilt as part of a new development at the attraction.

The library which stood in Stourbridge Road, Holly Hall, until 2021, is being rebuilt brick by brick at the museum in Tipton Road, Dudley, as part of its new 1940s-1960s high street.

A spokesperson for BCLM said: “We’re seeking both fiction and non-fiction books printed during the 1960s or earlier, of popular titles from the era as well as more historic titles.”

Children’s books are also wanted as the library also had a children’s library featuring popular children’s favourites including Paddington.”

Anyone who has any books that might be suitable is asked to contact the museum. A pre-bookable drop-in day will be held on Monday March 18 from 10am to 3pm.

To book a drop-in slot, email collections@bclm.com or call 0121 521 5600.
