The Dudley Group NHS Charity has awarded runner Emma Tetsill their 2024 TCS London Marathon charity bond place.
Participating alongside her will be Dudley Group nurse and Ms Tetsill's friend, Elizabeth Allen.
The duo, who will form part of the 17,000 runners at the iconic race on April 21, want to raise funds for the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) at the Dudley Group NHS Charity, where Ms Allen is employed.
Ms Tetsill said: “This will be the biggest physical challenge we have faced, but we are incredibly excited and ready to push ourselves.”
Ms Allen, who began her nursing career in August 2022, works on the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) at Russells Hall Hospital, and treats up to 92 patients at any time with different medical conditions.
She does this with the other nurses, care support workers, doctors and other healthcare professionals on AMU.
Both runners are looking forward to generate more funds for the benefit of patient experience at the AMU.
