A WOMAN driver was taken to hospital after a crash in Dudley which saw a car flip onto its roof.

The crash, which involved two cars, happened on Birmingham Road, just off Castlegate Island in Dudley at around 11.20am yesterday (Thursday April 11).

One car ended up on its roof - with police, firefighters and medics at the scene.

The driver, a woman, was taken to Russells Hall Hospital, with injuries not believed to be serious.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of an RTC and a passing ambulance crew came across the incident.

"A car had come off the road and ended up on its roof and the driver, a woman, was already out of the vehicle.

"She was treated by ambulance staff for injuries not believed to be serious before being conveyed to Russells Hall Hospital for further treatment."

Dudley News:

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said a fire engine from Dudley attended as well as a 4x4 brigade response vehicle, both arriving within four minutes of being mobilised.

They said: "This was a collision between two cars on the road, one vehicle coming to rest on its roof.

"Both casualties freed themselves from their vehicles and were checked by paramedics.

"The road was closed and the incident was left with West Midlands Police.

"We left the scene at 12.02pm."
