Police have recovered a stolen and cloned vehicle in Dudley.

The West Midlands Police Traffic Unit said they recovered the stolen car today (Wednesday, May 22) after the driver had been "duped by a deal too good to be true".

Officers said the 2017 vehicle was displaying a 63 plate and the driver had only paid a fraction of its worth.

A spokesperson for WMP Traffic said: "A stolen and cloned vehicle was recovered in Dudley today. The driver had been duped by a deal too good to be true. A 2017 vehicle displaying 63 plates and only paid a fraction of its worth. The signs are there in hindsight.

"Always check for consistency between number plates, VINs, logbook and the age of the vehicle you’re buying. If something doesn’t seem right then don’t be afraid to walk away from a potentially costly mistake."
