A 16-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man have been arrested after police found a machete in a stolen car which they chased through Quarry Bank and Rowley Regis.
The pair have been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of a knife and are in police custody for questioning.
Officers traced the Ford Focus just over an hour after it was reported stolen from Smethwick yesterday afternoon (Sunday June 9).
After discovering the car off Blakeley Hall Road, Oldbury, two people attempted to run off from officers at around 4pm.
They were quickly detained and a subsequent search of the vehicle led to a machete being seized.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "Knives can destroy lives and we're working alongside partners to help get weapons off the streets.
"We also know the impact of vehicle crime on our communities, it can impact on the daily routines of families and livelihoods.
"This is why we carry out regular activity to arrest suspects."
Brierley Hill police tweeted that the vehicle was followed through Quarry Bank and Rowley Regis.
