A NUMBER of road closures will be in place in Dudley this weekend as the town hosts its first outdoor Pride event.
High Street, Stone Street, Tower Street and Court Passage Dudley will be closed to traffic from 7am to 9.30pm on Saturday July 20 as the town plays host to a raft of fun and performances.
The restriction on High Street will be from the junction of Wolverhampton Street to the junction of Stone Street. In Stone Street it will be from the junction of High Street to the junction of Priory Street.
In Tower Street it will be from the junction of Stone Street to the junction of New Street; and in Court Passage it will be from the junction of Stone Street to the rear of 7 Stone Street.
Traffic will be diverted via: Wolverhampton Street, Parsons Street, Ednam Road, Priory Road and New Street.
Dudley highways chiefs said the closures have been ordered to enable the Dudley Pride Event to go ahead safely.
The Dudley Council-led event will see Baga Chipz MBE, star of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, headlining.
A stage and marquee will be in Stone Street Square from 1pm to 8pm with a line-up of entertainment throughout the afternoon including X Factor finalist Georgia Burgess and Birmingham’s Rainbow Voices Choir, Word of Mouth DJ Stuart Ojelay, drag Queen Trixie Lee and more.
