A MAN in his 30s has been arrested after reports of the attempted abductions of two teenage girls in Coseley.
Police were alerted to two incidents yesterday evening (Sunday September 22) where girls reported being approached and asked to get into a car.
Neither did and they reported the incidents to police.
Police later detained a suspect in Birmingham city centre and he remained in custody today.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We've a suspect in custody today following the attempted abduction of two teenage girls in the Coseley area yesterday evening (Sunday September 22).
“Both girls told us they'd been approached separately and asked to get into a car but neither did and instead reported what had happened to us.
“Our teams were alerted to the incidents and at around 8.30pm last night officers in Birmingham city centre spotted a suspect who they detained.
“A man in his 30s arrested on suspicion of attempted abduction remains in police custody today as investigations continue.
