EXOTIC creatures from Dudley Zoo’s Discovery Centre paid a visit to Netherton’s Hillcrest School and Community College, where pupils took part in a non-uniform day to fund the adoption of a selection of animals.
The Madagascar Mufti Day was held at Hillcrest School and Community College, Netherton, to promote global awareness.
Pupils and staff paid £1 each for the privilege of donning fancy dress with a global theme and each of the school’s four houses will adopt a zoo animal with the proceeds.
Dudley Zoo education presenter Caroline Parsons took along geckos, cockroaches, chinchillas and a ferret to show the youngsters and talk about global issues facing animals.
She also gave them an update on the zoo’s Madagascar Campaign for Schools which Hillcrest pupils’ were among the first to join and last year wrote letters to schoolchildren in Madagascar as part of the project.
