KIND HEARTED youngsters at Brockmoor Primary have raised over £500 for Children in Need with money still rolling in.

The children at the Belle Isle school took part in a variety of fundraising activities throughout the week including turning Pudsey gold and learning a number of different foreign languages.

On Friday staff and pupils all went to school in their pyjamas and throughout the week £1 coins have been stuck on to a giant Pudsey in the bid to turn him gold.

As well as raising money for Children in Need the school also celebrated Maths Week and to incorporate the two events, the children had to learn to count in different languages for a sponsored count - with Spanish, German and French all being heard spoken around the school on Friday.

Organiser Tracy Lester, said:” We had a wonderful time. It was great to see everyone in their pyjamas and all the children successfully completed their sponsored count.

“We raised over £500 on the day but are still waiting for all the sponsorship money to come in so our total should be a lot higher.”
