A NEW multi million pound state-of-the-art healthcare centre has opened in Dudley.

The £3 million primary care centre at Eve Hill opened its doors on June 15 and offers top services and facilities to members of the public.

The new St James Medical Practice in Malthouse Drive, has been developed by Matrix Medical and Adonis Construction on behalf of Dudley Primary Care Trust and has seen doctors from nearby Grange Road surgery transfer to the site.

The 2,500 sq metre centre houses nine GP consulting rooms with two GP practices set to serve 7,800 patients from the town.

The three-storey facilities, which took 38 weeks to complete, also offer patients a full range of primary care services such as minor surgery and blood tests, as well as an onsite pharmacy.

It also houses community staff including district nurses, health visitors and midwives.

Dr Nicholas White, a GP at the practice, said: “We are delighted to have moved into the new premises and we are sure patients old and new will be impressed by the facilities we have to offer.”

Rachel Harris, chairman of Dudley Primary Care Trust, said: “The new building is another great example of how health care facilities continue to improve across Dudley.

“I am sure that the many patients will benefit from it.”

The new practice also offers extended opening hours with appointments available in early morning sessions and until 8.30pm on certain evenings.
