SLEDMERE youngsters have been hard at work removing hazardous moss from communal gardens at an elderly residence in Kates Hill.
Nine members of Sledmere Environmental Youth Group, aged between eight and 16, worked with police community support officers from Dudley police station to help clear the footpaths of Brereton Close, where the slippery moss has become a hazard for the elderly residents.
During the clear up event, residents also had the opportunity to get advice about the security of their homes with additional locks and bolts fitted to doors and windows where needed.
PCSO Stephanie Clements, said: “Everyone really enjoyed working on the gardens and the residents were very appreciative.
“Sledmere Environmental Youth Club work hard to identify issues and concerns in the community and do something about it.”
