DUDLEY Sports joint manager Tony Gore’s optimism about his side’s improving form was proved correct with a 3-0 win at Ludlow Town.
New signings Richard Esp and Daryl Smith were both on target while Tom Russell also got on the scoresheet.
The result saw Sports jump to 16th in the table and Gore hailed the performance as the best in his 18 month reign at the club.
He said: “It was incredible. From the goalkeeper right up to the substitutes that came on we were superb.
“We went to the leading scorers in the league and shut them out. We should have scored a few more ourselves, 3-0 flattered them.
“We have been playing well in patches but this is the first time we have done it for a whole game, it was just what we needed.”
The game also saw an impressive debut for Argentine student Tomas Vercellana in the Sports midfield, after the club was granted international clearance for the player.
Gore joked: “I think this proves our scouting network spreads far and wide.
“They are even coming from Buenos Aires to join us!” They now entertain Wolverhampton Casuals on Saturday.
