A POPULAR parent and baby coffee morning at Merry Hill has celebrated its second birthday with an action-packed party.

Mums and dads from across the region attended the party on Tuesday (February 9) to mark two years' of Mummy Mornings.

Sessions, held every Tuesday at 10am till 11.30am, give parents the chance to meet up and make friends and have recently moved to the shopping centre's Eat Central venue to accommodate growing demand.

Every week around 100 mums and dads enjoy free samples, exclusive offers and sneak previews of the latest fashon trends which are put on show by a selection of Merry Hill retailers.

Organiser Liz Hollingshead said: "We have some people who have made friends and who you know are going to be friends for the rest of their lives.

"We welcome, mums, dads and grandparents and have one lady who travels an hour to get here."

The party featured a fancy dress competition, cakes, and free beauty treatments and goodie bags.

Rebecca Jeavons, Merry Hill marketing manager said: "It's a fantastic opportunity for mums and dads of all ages to come and meet others in a similar situation and take advantage of some great offers and handy tips.

"We have a great turnout at every meeting and it's become a big topic of discussion amongst parents, particularly on Merry Hill's social networking and online channels.

"Being a parent can be a lonely job but we're doing what we can to make it easier for mums and dads."

Next week's Mummy Morning during half term will also feature entertainment for older children including face painting.
