FOUR Dudley primary schools have joined forces to celebrate the achievements of pupils taking part in a Junior Neighbourhood Watch project.

A group of pupils from Blowers Green Primary, Russells Hall Primary, Jessons Primary and Holly Hall School attended the courses run by police community support officers from Dudley Police Station.

And to round off the course, the youngsters were presented with certificates by Dudley Mayor Pat Martin, Assistant Chief Constable Gordon Scobbie and Dudley Sector Inspector Chris Dowen, at a special presentation evening in front of proud family and friends at Holly Hall School.

Praising the youngsters, Inspector Dowen said: “We hear too much about anti-social behaviour, so it’s important that we shout about the good work that some children are doing.”

The scheme is aimed at nine to 11 year olds and encourages them to discuss topics such as how crime affects young people, personal safety and their responsibilities in the community, which is achieved through quizzes, art, drama, IT and games.
