DUDLEY Kingswinford RFC will look to make it seven wins in a row at Bournville this Saturday but know their promotion hopes are all but over.

The Birmingham side’s 11-6 win over Walsall last weekend moved them six points clear in second place.

It means Bournville must lose all three remaining fixtures, an unlikely scenario, if DK are to have any chance of catching them.

Joint head coach Mark Lockley revealed the Heathbrook side will go into the game with no injury concerns and said they would still be determined to win.

He said: “As a team, we haven’t achieved all our goals this year but we’ll be very keen to get a result.

“It is too late to go for promotion, but there is great deal of pride at stake, I’d like to see us go unbeaten and take some momentum into next year.

“From now until the end of the season we’ll be trying to make sure we maximise our potential as a team.”

He said the last few weeks had been encouraging as the team has been showing more consistency.

He added: “The last few weeks we have seen glimpses of that. If were going to achieve promotion next year, we need to be more consistent and we’re working on that.

“No we don’t have any major injuries and go into the game with a reasonably fit squad.”
