STAFF and pupils at a Sedgley school are celebrating after being judged as outstanding by Ofsted.

In the report, inspectors praise High Arcal School, congratulating staff on living the school’s ethos of “making a difference for every student” every day.

During the visit in November, inspectors also noted how the school has a sense of community and helps pupils to reach the highest academic standards as well as developing a keen sense of purpose and responsibility.

The recently published report also praises headteacher Jo Manson for her energetic leading and the “outstanding curriculum” the school offers to its pupils.

The school’s community cohesion is also rated as being outstanding, which has a “wide-ranging impact both on school life and local community”.

Headteacher Mrs Manson said: “The staff, students, parents, outstanding governors and our many partners in the community are all delighted that Ofsted has identified High Arcal as an outstanding school.

“However, the inspection team also recognised quite rightly that, as a school, we are highly self-critical and not at all complacent about any aspect of our work.

“All our stakeholders operate together as a very successful team for the benefit of our learners and we are always looking at ways to keep improving. In this way, we will continue to deliver an outstanding service for many years to come.”
