TALENTED pupils at a Sedgley school are getting set to strike up the band for a charity musical coffee morning.

The youngsters from Cotwall End Primary School have teamed up with volunteers from a cancer charity, for a morning of music, refreshments and fundraising fun.

The fundraiser is being hosted to raise money for the MJP Cancer Care Trust Fund.

The charity was set up 10 years ago, by Pam and John Pestana, in memory of their son Michael who died from a rare cancer, aged just 21.

Around 20 musical children from the Cotwall End Road school will be providing entertainment, while visitors can tuck into homemade cakes and tea and coffee.

There will also be stalls, tombolas and raffles, with all funds going towards the Holly Hall based charity, which is currently fundraising for a piece of medical equipment used for patients of the disease.

Pam Pestana, said: "We are really looking forward to an entertaining morning listening to talented pupils, while enjoying a piece of homemade cake. It should be a really fun event and we hope that lots of people come along and join us.”

The event will take place on Saturday, March 26, between 10.30am and 12.30pm.

Entrance is £1 and includes a hot drink.
