THERE will be great expectations for a Dudley Library event next week, when one of the country’s most iconic authors will be remembered.
Birmingham-based author, Gaynor Arnold, will be speaking about her book ‘Girl in a Blue Dress’ which gives a fictionalised account of the lives of Charles Dickens and his wife.
The book, which is Gaynor’s first novel, was also listed for the prestigious Man Booker Prize and Orange Prize for Fiction.
The free event takes place on Thursday March 22, from 2.30pm until 3.30pm at the St James’s Road library.
Councillor Adrian Turner, cabinet member for housing, libraries and adult learning, said: “We’re proud to welcome Gaynor to Dudley Library and provide an opportunity for people to find out more about such a prolific author. This year marks the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Dickens and his classic titles continue to prove extremely popular with today’s visitors.”
