A WOMAN is in hospital after being stabbed in Kates Hill this morning (Saturday).
Police were called to George Close just after 2.30am.
The woman, aged 29, had sustained knife wounds and was taken to hospital where she remains in a serious condition.
A 31-year-old man was arrested shortly after police attended the location; he remains in custody.
At this stage, officers aren’t looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.
Detective Inspector Tom Chisholm, leading the investigation, said: “We are in the early stages of this investigation, the victim is very poorly but receiving care at a local hospital.
“I would ask for anyone who lives in the area and heard anything unusual in the early hours of Saturday morning to contact the Public Protection Unit at Brierley Hill police station on 101."
