BISHOP Milner Catholic School held a sponsored walk to raise cash for one of their chosen charities.

The ten-mile walk was organised from the school, through Sedgley and past the Black Country Museum.

Students decided to raise money for the second year running for Mary Stevens Hospice.

Colleen Lloyd, head of sixth form said: "The students have nominated The Mary Stevens Hospice organisation as their charity as many of their lives have been touched by palliative care given to their loved ones."

Ann Isherwood community fundraiser for the hospice said: "We live in a time were the youth can be easily labelled as selfish and busy doing nothing, but not in this case.

"Today's youth are tomorrow's fundraisers and without them community fundraising will diminish, these young people are setting a good example for all to follow."
