KIND-hearted care home residents have helped to feed those sleeping rough in Dudley borough.
The 83 residents at Broadway Halls Care Home collected hundreds of tins of food for Heaven’s Kitchen, which serves hot food to those in need from its Dudley Community Church base.
The generous donations, which came from the residents, their families and staff, were handed over to soup kitchen worker Joan Howls on Monday (October 17).
Matthew Pound, the home's activities team leader, said: "This was the first time we'd held a Harvest Festival and it was a huge success, we collected more than what we expected and we're still getting donations coming in.
"We will be helping out again in the lead up to Christmas as Heaven's Kitchen likes to give out presents and gifts to the people that use the service.
"The residents have already started knitting scarves and blankets and we're also collecting children's toys and gift sets."
Anyone who would like to make a donation to the Christmas appeal, can drop items off at the Broadway home.
