A RETIRED Stourbridge teacher - famed for wearing his shorts whatever the weather - has released a 2018 calendar of pictures of the area which he's hoping may raise a few pounds for charity.

Lionel Weston, known to Facebookers as the Stourbridge Shorts Man, says he has always enjoyed taking photographs going back to when film was in fashion.

More recently he's adapted to digital images and his new Stourbridge in Context calendar features a selection of shots taken in and around Stourbridge and the surrounding area.

There's also a few aerial shots of the town - taken from the top of ring road facing Our Lady & All Saints Catholic Church by workmen as Mr Weston admits he "didn't have the courage" to go up there himself.

Depending on sales and interest in the calendar - he's hoping to donate any profits to a town charity.

The calendars are priced £10 and can be bought from Mr Weston directly at his Albert Square stall in Smithfield Market by the Crown Centre - which is open on afternoons from Tuesday to Saturday - or from Ian Perks estate agents in Hagley Road.
