ARMED police were called to a robbery on a bus in Oldbury on Wednesday night (January 16).

Officers from several units, including the firearms squad, descended on the number 12 bus on New Birmingham Road at around 9.30pm.

Two teenagers, aged 19 and 15, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and assault.

An 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of cannabis. All three remained in police custody as of yesterday.

The number 12 bus runs from Dudley to Birmingham city centre through Oldbury, Langley and Bearwood.

One of the units attending the incident, the West Midlands Force Support Unit, tweeted: Great work tonight from several departments.

"Three detained for assault and robbery offences on a @nxwestmidlands bus in Oldbury.
