THE inquest has opened into the death of Pensnett teenager Charlie Burgoyne who was killed in a horror crash last week.

Senior Coroner Zafar Siddique formally opened the inquest at Black Country Coroner's Court today (May 31).

17-year-old Charlie, from High Oak in Pensnett, died from severe head injuries after the car she was travelling in as a passenger lost control and crashed on Tansey Green Road on May 23, the court was told.

Charlie, who was a student hairdresser, was pronounced dead at the scene.

for the former Thorns Collegiate Academy student.

Her mother, speaking on behalf of the family, said they were 'totally shocked and devastated at the loss of our beautiful princess'.

Coroner Siddique adjourned proceedings for the police investigation into the crash to continue.

Arthur Pinches, a 27-year-old mechanic, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and dangerous driving.

Pinches, of High Oak, Pensnett, is in police custody and will appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on June 21.
