PARCELS of land in Cradley Heath and Oldbury are being sold off by Sandwell Council for people to build homes.

The two sites - one next to Mousesweet Brook on Halesowen Road, Cradley Heath and the other in Rood End Road, Oldbury - are part of four listings from Sandwell Council at an auction this month.

The Bond Wolfe Auction will be at Villa Park on next Thursday (February 27).

It will see the Birmingham-based auctioneer host its first ever 200-plus lots auction outside of London, with developers and those looking for a property bargain expected to flock to the sale.

In Oldbury a 363.4 sq yard (303.8 sqm) plot is being offered at a guide price of £45k as a residential development opportunity (pictured below).

The land is next to 44, Rood End Road and the council believes it would be suitable as the site of a four bedroom detached house or possibly two one-bedroom apartments, subject to the necessary planning consents.

A guide price of £50k plus has been set on a plot next to Mousesweet Brook on Halesowen Road in Cradley Heath.

Again, planning permission would be needed for the large, irregular shaped parcel of land that extends to around 1,420.3 square yards (1,187.5 m), which the council has said is suitable for either a two-storey four or five bedroom detached home or a single bungalow (site plan below - google pic of site at top of article).

The other two sites Sandwell Council is selling are one in West Bromwich which is being sold off for £40k plus for car parking and another in High Street, Princes End, Tipton which is being sold for industrial redevelopment with a guide price of £65k.

Sandwell Council has issued planning statements to provide information on the suitable use of each site which can be seen within the legal pack for each plot or at BWA’s offices.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe Auctions, said: “We are delighted that Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council has chosen BWA to handle the auction of these four development sites.

“We have enjoyed an outstanding first year since we launched and our auctions are now attracting interest from across the country – we have sent out a record number of catalogues this time.

“Our February auction will offer the council an outstanding platform and I am convinced these four sites will attract a lot of attention and competitive bidding on the day.

"I am confident this auction will prove an outstanding success for the council in realising the value of these four plots of land.

“We can also see that since the General Election, confidence has surged back into the property market.

"Demand is up from small to medium developers, with new starts on site being announced every day.

“But most important of all, sellers are instructing us because they are seeing remarkable results at each of our auctions.”

The auction starts at 10am, to cater for the record number of lots to be offered on the day.
