Aldi has unveiled plans to open a brand new store in Lower Gornal.

The discount chain has released proposals to build a new branch on Zoar Street, along with 115 car parking spaces.

The store would also include a new pharmacy with 10 spaces- replacing long-running Eggington's Pharmacy.

A planning application has not yet been submitted to Dudley Council, and residents are being encouraged to have their say on the plans.

Stourbridge News:

Hamish Latchem, Aldi’s Property Director said: “We are delighted to announce our plans to open a new Aldi food store in Lower Gornal. With the nearest Aldi stores over two miles away in Kingswinford and Dudley, a new store for Lower Gornal will not only mean saving money but travel time too.

“We are excited to bring our award-winning products and fresh produce to the community, improving customer choice and creating much-needed local jobs.

“We want to hear from local people before we submit a planning application to Dudley Council, and encourage residents to attend our virtual public exhibition and let us know their views on the proposals.”

The virtual consultation on the proposals starts on Thursday, June 4 until Monday, June 15, with a live chat hosted between 1pm and 4pm today (June 4).
