POLICE are using dispersal powers to curb the increased number of anti social behaviour incidents in Dudley.

The dispersal order is enforced until midnight tonight (June 27) - meaning officers an direct anyone to leave the area whose behaviour is likely to cause alarm, harassment or distress.

A spokesperson for Dudley Police said: "Following incidents of anti-social behaviour, crime and disorder in Kates Hill, Rosefield playing fields and Green Park recently, the neighbourhood team will be using dispersal powers from 2pm today (26 June) to midnight on Sunday (28 June).

"The powers are granted under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 and mean officers can direct anyone to leave the area whose behaviour is likely to cause alarm, harassment or distress.
