BLACK Country stage star David Hutchins will be reprising his role as Herr Flick in Dudley Little Theatre’s 70th anniversary production of Allo Allo.

Popular amateur actor David, from Brierley Hill, played the character back in 2006 and he couldn’t resist signing up for another outing as the grotesque Gestapo officer.

The production proved a huge hit with theatregoers and members alike – so much so that it was decided it would be staged once again as one of the society’s anniversary outings.

‘Allo ‘Allo will be the final play of this 70th anniversary season - which has also seen Blood Brothers, A Christmas Carol and Terence Rattigan’s The Deep Blue Sea performed.

Based on the popular TV sitcom, the comedy favourite about the adventures of a hapless café owner in war-torn France is set to run at Netherton Arts Centre, Northfield Road, Netherton, from May 16 to 19.

The stage outing follows café owner Rene and his wife Edith as they struggle to hide a priceless portrait stolen by the Nazis in a sausage in their cellar – and matters come to a head with the news the Fuhrer is to the visit the town and the cafe becomes filled with tricksters intending to impersonate Hitler.
