HEARTBROKEN relatives of Ryan Passey, who died after being stabbed in Chicago's, fought back tears as video footage of the popular footballer's final moments in the bar were played in court.

The 24-year-old centre midfielder, who formerly played for Stourbridge FC, was seen entering the Stourbridge nightspot on August 5 with friends Jordan Poole and Lee Salt, in bodycam footage played to Birmingham Crown Court, around two-and-a half hours before he was fatally stabbed through the chest.

Dudley teenager Kobe Murray, of The Broadway, who is accused of murdering self-employed window cleaner Mr Passey, was also seen on CCTV entering the club with friends.

Grainy CCTV images later show what appears to be an altercation in the bar seconds before Mr Passey falls to the floor - fatally injured.

Moments later Murray, aged 19, is pictured moving away from the scene and swiftly exiting the club with friends Bradley Hackett and Ethan Jones.

CCTV covering the town also captured images of the three running down Stourbridge High Street.

The court heard earlier in the opening remarks by the prosecution that Murray confessed to his two friends that he had stabbed someone in the bar and Bradley Hackett noticed "watery blood" on a knife which Murray produced as they jumped inside a car which Ethan Jones then drove out of Stourbridge.

Murray then discarded the knife after getting out of the car in Cochrane Road, Dudley.

Some hours later Murray told his mother Elizabeth in a telephone conversation that he had "messed up" and he later told his father Errol he was responsible for the incident at Chicago's as they drove to West Bromwich Police Station.

But in a prepared statement which he later presented to police he appeared to be equivocating and he denied murdering Mr Passey - Phil Bradley QC, prosecuting, said.

The trial will resume on Monday January 29.
