CHARITABLE Lye dance teacher Karen Yates is this weekend staging her latest all-singing all-dancing show to help raise cash for good causes.

The Karen Yates School of Dance is putting on Summer Cinderella, based on the classic pantomime but given an overhaul by Karen herself who has written the script, directed and choreographed the show which will run at The Dormston Centre, Sedgley, this Friday and Saturday.

A total of 86 dance school pupils, ranging in age from two to 50-something, will be taking part in the production which will raise money for Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Age UK and the Deb Drew Fund to help a brave Stourbridge mum who suffered a devastating brain injury after trying to rescue a young boy from rough seas off the Devon coast.

Karen, who runs dance classes in Lye, Amblecote and Hagley, said: "I'd like to be able to give each charity around £1,000 each but it depends on ticket sales."

The show starts at 7.15pm on both days and there’s also a matinee on Saturday starting at 2.15pm.

Tickets cost £12 and are available from Karen on 07889 864402 or on the door.

An extra performance of Summer Cinderella will also take place at The United Church in Lye where the group rehearses on Saturday July 16 from 6pm.

Tickets for that outing cost £6.50 for adults and £3.50 for children.
