WEST Midlands UKIP MEP Bill Etheridge is to welcome the Deputy Leader of Germany’s Alternatif fur Deutschland to Sedgley tomorrow (Tuesday May 1).

Far right German politician Beatrix von Storch has served as Deputy of the AfD since July 2015 and Member of the Bundestag since September 2017, having previously been a Member of the European Parliament.

Mrs von Storch, who has previously been vehemently opposed to mass immigration into Europe, is set to stop off at Sedgley Working Men's Club in support of Councillor Etheridge's campaign to keep his Sedgley seat on Dudley Council.

He said he's looking forward to welcoming his friend to Sedgley and he added: "Beatrix and I served as MEPs together and I know she is a powerful speaker. "That she has chosen to support me in her only planned visit to the UK this year is an honour.

“Unrestricted by a first past the post system, the AfD have taken 90 seats in the Bundestag, showing that euro-sceptism is growing throughout the whole of the EU.

“I hope to see a good turnout to hear what she has to say.”

The evening is set to start at 7pm. Admission is free. Anyone interested in attening can contact Bill Etheridge MEP via his Facebook page.
