The Shovel Inn in Lye is hosting its annual German Fair on Friday 7th December with plenty of festive treats lined up culminating in a Christmas quiz on Sunday evening.  Steve Hopkins, Licensee, has transformed the garden at the rear of the pub into a mini German Fair in aid of his chosen charity Mary Stevens Hospice which promises to be bigger and better than last year.

When you enter the Winter Wonderland you can choose from an array of treats such as frankfurter hog dogs, sautéed potatoes and mushrooms cooked in a giant pan, following the tradition of German markets, which can be swilled down with mulled wine, schnapps, German beer or any of the popular real ales that the Shovel is renowned for.

There will be a grand Christmas Raffle, with some fabulous prizes, to help swell the funds for the Hospice.

Vicki Rowles, Head of Fundraising said, “Steve has been a staunch supporter of the Hospice for many year and has organised a variety of events on our behalf.  We appreciate all the hard work he gives us and we’re looking forward to visiting his Winter Wonderland”.
