Mary Stevens Hospice is launching a month of fitness madness to encourage supporters from across the borough to shed that wintery weight whilst raising vital funds for the Hospice.

Local fitness clubs are working closely with the Hospice to provide classes and gym challenges throughout the month of February with a range of events to satisfy all from fancy dress fitness classes to indoor triathlons.

The Hospice will also be launching its first ever Swimathon on Sunday 24th February at Wordsley School under the guidance of Kath Tunnicliffe, Assistant Head Teacher and experienced swimmer:  “The Swimathon is a great opportunity for all generations to get in the pool and have a go! It really doesn't matter if you use a float and armbands to swim one length or pound away for the full 30 minutes. You'll all be winners and help raise a few quid for a really worthwhile local cause.”

Sally Insley, Fundraiser, added: “We’d really love members of the community to get involved with their own personal challenges – you could get a group of friends together for a cycle ride or take a walk in the local countryside.”

All of these activities are a great way to maintain your fitness whilst raising much needed funds for your local hospice.  For a timetable of events throughout the month of February please visit www.marystevenshospice.co.uk
