A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after another man was hit by a car.
A 30-year-old was treated in hospital after an incident in Glebe Road, Whitburn, West Lothian, on September 1.
Police launched an investigation and arrested two people.
Bret Cunningham, 21, appeared in private at Livingston Sheriff Court on Thursday charged with assault to severe injury, permanent impairment and attempted murder.
He is also charged with dangerous driving, driving without a licence or insurance and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Cunningham, from Bathgate, made no plea and was remanded in custody with the case continued for further examination.
Stuart Cunningham, 47, also appeared at the court charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.
He made no plea and was released on bail.
