KIDDERMINSTER golden girl Claire Cashmore will be among the star speakers at an event aimed at raising awareness against discrimination.

The Paralympian will be joined by the likes of radio broadcaster Ray Khan and Bushra Shaikh, who was a 2017 candidate on The Apprentice at the Hate Crime event.

It has been organised by North Worcestershire Hate Incident Partnership with Wyre Forest District Council and will take place at the Parkside Suite, Bromsgrove on Friday, October 19 from 10am to 1pm.

Councillor Juliet Smith, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Community Protection at Wyre Forest District Council said: “It’s great to see so many well-known celebrities speaking out against hate crime.

“This event is a great platform to raise awareness about discrimination and it demonstrates how people from different backgrounds can collectively tackle it.”

Nadia Rashid, Chair of the North Worcestershire Hate Incident Partnership, added: “This is a really positive event to bring together the communities in North Worcestershire to celebrate perceived difference and break down the barriers associated with them.

“It would be great to have as much community support as possible to recognise such a positive event.”
