THREE young men pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour in a drunken brawl on Bridge Street.

Luke Barefoot, 29, of Sidney Box Drive, Hereford; Joseph Donovan, 27 of Coldwell Cottages, Kingston and Jordan Mills, 25 of Newtown Road, Hereford, appeared at Hereford Magistrates' Court on October 3.

All three pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour to others, while Barefoot and Donovan also pleaded guilty to obstructing a police officer from performing their duty.

Donovan also pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine.

The court heard how the men were caught on CCTV fighting amongst a group of males on Bridge Street during the early hours of May 5.

They were approached by a police officer and Donovan resisted arrest and tussled with the officer, causing a member of the public to intervene. He refused to get into a police van and tried to get rid of his wallet, which was searched by police who found a packet of white powder, the court heard.

Barefoot also obstructed police by running down the road and throwing himself into a bush.

The court heard how Mills initially tried to break up the fight before becoming embroiled himself and throwing punches.

Barefoot's defence explained how the 29-year-old was attacked by two men.

Mill's defence said the father-to-be is 'ashamed' of his behaviour while Donovan's defence said he was 'disgusted' with his actions.

Mills received a conditional discharge for 12 months a £120 fine, while Barefoot and Donovan received fines of £150 and £200 respectively.
