GENEROUS Alcester residents are being urged to dig deep for this year's special Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
An official launch will be held outside Alcester Methodist Church at 11am until 1pm on Saturday, October 27.
There will be First World War and Second World War re-enactors as well as refreshments, cakes and a raffle along with a selection of Poppy Appeal goodies.
All profits go to the Poppy Appeal fund.
Secretary David Malin said: "The final total for the 2017 - 2018 has just arrived and it is a branch record breaking £17,000. It will be a hard act to follow but I'm confident that with this year being the WW1 centenary, the townspeople will be just as supportive.
"We have a fantastic dedicated team of poppy collector's in the town and they will be out offering poppies from October 27 with almost a permanent position in Waitrose."
