NEXT weekend sees the return of Forge Mill’s annual Christmas event on Saturday and Sunday, December 1 and 2.

Visitors to the traditional style Victorian-themed event will be able to enjoy seeing a blacksmith at work, a Victorian organ grinder, and fire juggling.

There will also be a display about Victorian times and its Christmas traditions.

There will be festivities on both days including the Victoria Silver Band, traditional carols with Indigo Arts and mulled wine and chestnuts.

And of course the opportunity to purchase gifts from locally produced craft stalls.

Cllr Mike Rouse, Redditch Borough Council’s portfolio holder for leisure and tourism, said: “This year’s festivities at Forge Mill promise a real treat. Of course there’s lots for kids and adults to see and do, and this year for the first time it’ll go into an atmospheric Saturday evening too.”

Entry is £1 for adults and children go free, and if people want to pay to see Father Christmas, he will be in his grotto from 3pm until 7pm on Saturday and 11am until 3pm on Sunday.

You can also pay to take part in making a candle in the children’s craft area.
