EVESHAM pub-goers have a final chance to give their opinion on what the best pub in the town is.

Our contest has captured readers attention with nominations of their favourite establishment flooding into us.

The winner of the competition will receive a trophy and an invite to the Houses of Parliament by the town’s MP Nigel Huddleston.

One of the pubs that has been getting nominations is the Outside Inn, in Market Place.

The pub became known as the Outside Inn and Courtyard in October 2017, following an extensive refurbishment, and has gone from strength-to-strength in the past year.

The pub is owned by Guy Stephenson and run with a dedicated team.

Kevin Murphy, operations manager at the pub, said the establishment had become a really popular weekend destination, and was “absolutely chock-a-block” on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

“We have a live music, playing covers of songs people know,” he said.

“We serve gins, cocktails, beers and wines, as well as high end food.

“The outside area is a hidden gem, and was packed in the summer.

“And we have been taking bookings for Christmas parties.

“Where we are in Market Square has come alive.”

Mr Murphy says they had plans for the future including opening up a function room into another bar area.

Mr Murphy added it would be a fantastic achievement to win pub of the year, having won Evesham in Bloom earlier this year.

Anyone can vote for Pub of the Year, whether a member of staff or a loyal customer, but we only accept slips cut out from the newspaper as votes to ensure a fair competition.

Entries need to arrive at the Evesham Journal office no later than tomorrow’s deadline, November 30.

We have been profiling the pubs people have nominated as their favourite watering hole these past few weeks.

The competition winner will be announced in the paper and on our website on Tuesday, December 4.

Evesham Journal editor Michael Purton said: “There are some brilliant pubs in the area and we want to highlight them.

“Time is running out, so get your nominations in before the deadline runs out.”
