THE European blues awards nominees Starlite Campbell Band will be bringing their forthcoming ‘Mince Pie’ UK tour to The Iron Road in Pershore this Thursday, December 13.

The Iron Road venue used to be in Evesham but has now relocated to Pershore.

The Starlite Campbell Band have just released a new song ‘Heart Of Stone’ to support the UK tour, and they have just released their critically acclaimed hit album ‘Blueberry Pie’ on 180g double limited edition vinyl.

It’s really been a busy time for the up and coming band recently.

Spokesperson Suzy Starlite said: “We have also been on an incredible adventure.

“Following a summer appearance at Linton Festival, Ross on Wye, we travelled half way around the world to headline the Saturday night at the prestigious Wangaratta festival of jazz and blues in our Australian debut, which attracted over 25,000 people and over 300 artists from Australia, Europe, USA and Asia.”

The band’s performances in Oz, and elsewhere, have attracted rave reviews

Aside from live performances, the vinyl album is also a cause for excitement and pride.

Suzy said: “Our vinyl was mastered by the legendary Jon Astley at Close to the Edge and the lacquers cut by Miles Showell at Abbey Road, London.”

At the heart of Starlite Campbell Band are husband and wife, Suzy Starlite, who grew up in Ross, and the British Blues Award nominee, Simon Campbell.

No guessing, then, how the band got its name.

Suzy is the bass player with a “thunderous tone”, and Simon is known for his “explosive vocals”

The couple met and were married “after a whirlwind romance” and subsequently released their debut album, “Blueberry Pie” last year.

It was nominated for best album for the European Blues Awards and was a top ten blues chart success in the UK, Australia, the Netherlands and the USA.
